INTREPID
As the world was ravaged by war in the 1940's, one young troubled teen from Brooklyn, New York, found himself with a choice; Jail or Boot Camp. The decision he made changed his life, and 19 year old Felix Novelli took his place in a unique part of US history.

INTREPID is the story of the famed battleship, a ship of many that found herself in a unique position to witness and affect world events over six decades. She was born into the horrors of the Pacific and survived numerous attacks by Japanese Kamakazi fighters. That was just the beginning of a long career in which she would face the odds and live up to her name. We meet some of the men who made up her crew over three generations, the men who witnessed the Cold war, Vietnam, and the Space Race. This moving film puts a human face on 40,000 tons of steel, and hears from the sailors who refused to abandon her as she burned; from the astronauts whom she aided in traveling to the moon; from Senator John McCain, who flew as a Navy Pilot from her decks, and from the Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, who put the great ship back into service on September 12th 2001 to take a front line position in a new kind of war.  Nearly 30,000 men served aboard her as she sailed the oceans of the world, this is their story.
